Alta Motors, in case you don’t know, is one of the better-known electric motorcycle companies. The Silicon Valley-based start-up is actually backed by Tesla co-founders, Marc Tarpenning and Martin Eberhard and has already managed to raise a whopping $17 million in funding. Now, the company has unveiled a brand-new member to its Redshift family called the Redshift ST, and judging by the official photos, it looks more like a lightweight scooter.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much that’s know about Alta Motors’ latest Redshift ST at this moment. However, the company’s other flagships include the Redshift SM, the street-legal version that starts at $15,500 and the Redshift MX, the supermoto version that starts at $15,000. If those are any indicators, the new ST might not be too kind on your wallet either.
The Redshift SM has a disappointing 5.8 kWh battery pack which translates to about 50 miles of range, so here’s hoping that the ST is cheaper and comes with some improvements in the range department. The electric motorcycle start-up is expected to bring the Redshift to the One Moto Show next week in Portland, so we’ll keep you guys updated as more details surface! In the meantime, you can check out some photos of the bike down below:
