tesla model s 4

DragTimes is back, this time with two familiar rivals: Tesla Model S P100D versus 707 HP Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Read on to find out which beast comes out on top!

Two rivals meet again

No, this is not the first time that the two beasts are competing against each other. Last time around, the Model S that the team behind DragTimes used was the P85D. That was the electric car giant’s flagship back then with a combined 691 horsepower from two electric motors. That against Dodge’s most powerful sedan, the Challenger Hellcat, which boasts 707 horsepower from its Supercharged HEMI V8.

If you haven’t seen the video or read about the results from that race, let’s just say that it was one of those stereotype-shattering moments. Tesla’s Model S destroyed the Challenger Hellcat, and it really reaffirmed the fact that electric vehicles don’t need to sacrifice its power for zero emission. Now, Tesla’s flagship is even more powerful. So what happens when the Model S P100D goes up against the same Challenger Hellcat?

Upgraded Model S, interesting results

Two years after the embarrassing defeat, the Challenger Hellcat is back again, now racing against an even more powerful Model S P100D. Common sense says, if Dodge’s sedan was beat by an older Model S two years ago, it shouldn’t be hard for the new Model S to beat the same sedan. Well, that’s kind of what we see, except the margin of victory is really really close.

As you can see from the video, the P100D does beat Dodge’s 707 horsepower Challenger Hellcat, but by a fraction of a second. Of course, in a race, there are various factors affecting the outcome: the driver, the tires, etc. But at any rate, DragTimes once again shows us that electric cars have much potential to replace gas-powered vehicles even in terms of power.
