Tesla is not big on advertising. The company does not spend a ton of money on marketing its products, as it doesn’t need to. It gets a lot of free publicity, mainly because it knows how to innovate and create products that are unique and people really want. Additionally, the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, has millions of followers on social media who love hearing about new developments happening at the company.

Nevertheless, it looks like we’ll see a few Tesla commercials soon, thanks to an idea by a fifth-grader named Bria. She noticed that fans have made quite a few homemade commercial for Tesla and that some of them are quite good. That’s why Bria decided to write a letter to Elon Musk suggesting that Tesla should have a contest for the best homemade commercial and that the winning ad should then be aired.

Elon Musk read the letter and was apparently impressed with the suggestion. He took to Twitter to thank Bria for her letter and added, “That sounds like a great idea. We’ll do it!”

It is great to see that Tesla is listening to its customers and fans and is willing to take their ideas into consideration. The EV maker has already kicked off the competition, which is called Project Loveday. It launched on March 4 and will end on May 8.

During this time, participants can submit a commercial that must relate to Tesla, SolarCity, the company’s products, or its mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Tesla said that the top 10 winning videos will be featured and shared on Tesla’s social media channels. You can learn more about the competition by clicking the button below.
